Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is one of the world’s largest AV and systems integration events on the tradeshow calendar, attracting a host of leading speakers and showcasing the industry’s most advanced technologies.

Although many have predicted the ‘death of the tradeshow’ for some time, ISE 2019 was the biggest ever. It was spread across more than 600,000 square feet of space at the RAI in Amsterdam and attracted more than 80,000 visitors, with attendance on the final day topping 20,000 people for the first time in its history.

So, what does it take to organise such a large-scale event? How have tradeshows had to adapt over the years? And do they still hold the value they once did?

At ISE 2019, we spoke to Michael Blackman – the show’s managing director – to uncover the answers to these questions and more, including why partners can have a vital role to play in improving the attendee experience.
